From July 12 to 16, 2018, the "China Materials Conference 2018" was grandly held at the Xiamen International Convention & Exhibition Center in Fujian Province. The conference was initiated and organized by the Chinese Materials Research Society (CMRS). The meeting was chaired by Han Yafang, Director of the Academic Committee of the China Materials Conference and Secretary-General of the Chinese Materials Research Society. Academician Wei Bingbo, Chairman of the Chinese Materials Research Society, delivered a welcoming address. These sections provide comprehensive information and offer services in both Chinese and English. On June 13, 2018, the Workshop on Mass Production Technologies for Electronic Gases, hosted by the Strategic Alliance for Technological Innovation in the Integrated Circuit Materials and Components Industry (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”), was successfully held in Beijing. The workshop was organized with the aim of strengthening cooperation between suppliers and demanders and promoting synergy on the application side. Featuring a specialized focus on electronic gases, it brought together user companies including SMIC, Shanghai Huali Microelectronics Co., Ltd., Wuhan Xinxin Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Shanghai HuaHong Macro Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Wuxi CR Microelectronics Co., Ltd., to share their experiences gained in the mass production and application of electronic gases.

On May 18, the No. 718 Institute successfully held a promotion event for specialty gas products, along with a ceremony marking the commissioning of the first-phase project and the commencement of the second-phase project. Qian Jianping, Deputy General Manager of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC); Xu Zhenchuan, Deputy Director of the Hebei Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and Director of the Provincial Administration of National Defense Science and Technology Industry; Gao Jianqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Handan Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor; Zhao Hongshan, Secretary of the Feixiang District Party Committee; and Zhu Zhanfa, Secretary of the Party Committee of CSIC’s No. 703 Institute, were invited to attend the meeting. Li Junhua, Director of the No. 718 Institute and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Liu Xue, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Institute, were present at the event.

Leveraging the advantage of its subsidiary, which boasts an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of high-quality industrial sulfuric acid raw materials, Jingrui Chemical has combined this with advanced manufacturing technology for electronic-grade sulfuric acid—introduced from Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation of Japan—to invest in the construction of a project with an annual output capacity of 90,000 tons of electronic-grade sulfuric acid. The project is located in southern Jiangsu Province.

From March 14 to 16, 2018, SEMICON China 2018—the world’s largest annual event in the semiconductor industry—was grandly held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. In collaboration with SEMI China, the Materials and Components Alliance set up a “Special Zone for the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry” in Hall N5, the main exhibition area for integrated circuits. A total of companies—including Suzhou Jingrui Chemical Co., Ltd., Hubei Xingfu Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Beijing Kehua Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd., Anji Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Guangdong Huater Gas Co., Ltd., Shanghai Zhengfan Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Cabeni Precision—participated in the zone.
On March 8, 2018, the Integrated Circuit Materials and Components Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”) jointly organized, with the support of Pall Corporation of the United States, a technical seminar titled “Application of Defect Control & Filtration Technologies in the Semiconductor and High-Tech Industries.” The seminar specially invited Dr. David Huang, Peicheng Huang, a specially appointed expert on the Alliance’s Expert Advisory Committee and Vice President of Pall Corporation of the United States, as the keynote speaker. More than forty representatives from companies including Jiangsu Dena Chemical, Zhejiang Borui, Zhejiang Kaisheng, Youyan Yijin, Sinochem Lantian, Hubei Jingsheng, Hebei University of Technology, Duofluoride, Nanjing University of Science and Technology Optoelectronics, and Beijing Kaiyixin attended the seminar.

The “Integrated Circuit Industry Chain Collaborative Innovation Achievement Exchange Conference,” organized by the Integrated Circuit Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”), was held in Beijing on March 1, 2018. More than 200 representatives from enterprises across all segments of the domestic integrated circuit industry—including internet companies, system integrators, end-device application providers, and companies spanning the entire integrated circuit value chain—as well as representatives from several universities and research institutes, attended the conference. The conference aimed to further strengthen close collaboration between upstream and downstream players in the integrated circuit industry chain, exchange innovative achievements in the integrated circuit field under major national science and technology programs, promote collaborative innovation in industrial technologies, and jointly explore new opportunities and challenges facing China’s integrated circuit industry in the new era and under new circumstances.
Shanghai Xinyang recently disclosed its 2017 annual performance forecast, estimating that its profit for 2017 will range from 68 million to 75 million yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 25% to 37.87%. Shanghai Xinyang stated that the rise in net profit during the reporting period compared to the same period last year was primarily driven by a year-on-year increase in revenue from its core business. Since 2017, in the traditional packaging sector, Shanghai Xinyang’s wafer dicing blade products have gradually ramped up production and have already achieved profitability. In the semiconductor manufacturing sector, its wafer chemical products continue to see rapid growth as production scales up, and these wafer chemicals have now been adopted by SMIC, Hynix Wuxi, and HuaLi.
Ningbo Jiangfeng Electronics Customizes China’s Largest Volume Hot Isostatic Press Equipment.
On the morning of January 30, Ningbo Jiangfeng Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Aviation Industry Chuanxi Machinery Co., Ltd. held a contract-signing ceremony for their collaboration on ultra-large-scale hot isostatic pressing equipment. Mr. Mao Pixian, Vice Mayor of Yuyao City, along with leaders from relevant departments including the Yuyao Economic Development Zone, the Science and Technology Bureau, and the Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, attended the ceremony as witnesses. Chuanxi Machinery is a leading enterprise in China’s research and development of hot isostatic pressing equipment. In this collaboration with Chuanxi Machinery, Jiangfeng Electronic has joined forces with a strong partner to create China’s first ultra-large-scale hot isostatic pressing equipment. The technical specifications of this equipment have all reached internationally advanced levels, and its effective working diameter can reach up to 12.
