Secretary-General Shi Ying of the Alliance chaired the meeting and delivered a report analyzing the current status of the electronic gas industry. Using comprehensive data, the report examined various aspects including the composition of professionals in the electronic gas sector, R&D and industrial development investments, the number of patents, production capacity, sales revenue, and the bulk application of electronic gases in FAB facilities. The report also pointed out that electronic gas products currently suffer from homogenization, a phenomenon that deserves greater attention from industry stakeholders.

League Secretary-General Shi Ying chaired the meeting and delivered a speech.
At the meeting, Zhang Xin, Chairman of the Alliance and General Manager of SMIC Northern, pointed out that as China’s first 12-inch fab, SMIC International has, since starting its work on domesticating materials in 2011, felt both the responsibility and the obligation to take the lead in material localization and help domestic material manufacturers break new ground. For the integrated circuit industry to thrive, it must rely on strong integration within the domestic industrial chain. Upstream and downstream enterprises must closely unite around a platform jointly built by the Alliance, users, and manufacturers, seizing the opportunities presented by material localization and efficiently completing the systematic development of domestically produced materials—only then can we live up to the responsibilities entrusted to us by the times. He also emphasized that material localization is now at a critical stage of overcoming tough challenges. The next major task for the Materials and Components Alliance will be to efficiently scale up from individual points to broader applications, helping domestic material manufacturers promote their products at lower costs and create better platforms.

Speech by Zhang Xin, Chairman of the Alliance and General Manager of SMIC Northern.
Huang Zilun, Technical Director of SMIC Northern; Jin Xin, Head of Shanghai HuaLi Microelectronics; Zhang Weiguang, Assistant Director of Wuhan Xinxin; Li Gang, Engineer at Shanghai HuaHong Macro; and Ge Dewei, Plant Manager of Fab 2 at Wuxi CR Microelectronics—each, from the perspective of their respective companies and personal experience, delivered reports on the mass production application of domestically produced electronic gases as well as the challenges encountered.
