On August 15, the opening ceremony for Jiangfeng Electronics’ first overseas factory—Jiangfeng Electronics Materials (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. The Materials and Components Alliance Electronic Gases Standards Working Group Meeting was successfully held in Beijing.

On August 6, 2018, the Electronic Gases Standards Working Group Meeting, hosted by the Standards Committee of the Integrated Circuit Materials and Components Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance Standards Committee”), was held in Beijing. The Alliance’s Standardization Working Committee was established at the end of 2017 and has completed registration and public announcement on the “National Group Standards Information Platform.” Currently, the Alliance has 11 standards under development, and 10 standards have been drafted and entered the stage of soliciting comments. At this meeting, in response to the joint needs of integrated circuit manufacturing enterprises and electronic gas suppliers, the composition of the Alliance Standards Committee was expanded, with a particular focus on incorporating representatives from SMIC International Integrated Circuit Manufacturing.

SEMI: This year, global semiconductor equipment shipments from mainland China will surpass those from Taiwan.

The Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMI) announced that North American semiconductor equipment shipments reached US$2.39 billion in December last year, representing a monthly increase of 16.3% and an annual increase of 27.7%, marking the highest level in nearly 17 years. Last year, global semiconductor equipment shipments totaled US$56 billion, up 40% year-on-year, setting a new all-time high. SEMI noted that as wafer fabrication capacity in mainland China continues to expand, demand for semiconductor equipment will remain robust this year. Global semiconductor equipment spending is expected to keep growing, potentially reaching over US$63 billion—another new high—and increasing by 11% compared to the previous year. Sales of semiconductor equipment serve as an important indicator of the semiconductor industry’s health.

A large-scale silicon material base has been established in Dezhou City, with a total investment of 8 billion yuan.
