1. This instrument is equipped with heating and temperature-control components inside its thermal probe, which automatically heat the probe and maintain the temperature within the range of 40–60°C. The thermoelectric EMF generated by the hot and cold probes on semiconductor materials, as well as the potential difference produced by rectification, are amplified by a low-noise, low-drift integrated operational amplifier. The amplified signals are then displayed using digital display devices and a galvanometer to indicate the type and orientation of the semiconductor material. The instrument offers two sensitivity settings—high and low—enabling it to identify the type of semiconductor material over a wide range of resistivity values (from high-resistance single crystals to heavily doped single crystals). 2.
