On June 13, the symposium on advancing the technical progress of key components industry was successfully held in Beijing. More than 60 people including Xie Min, Inspector of National Science and Technology Major Project Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Liang Sheng, Director of National Science and Technology 02 Major Project Implementation and Management Office, Qiu Gang, Director of National Science and Technology Major Project, Director Ye Tianchun, Chief Engineer of National Science and Technology 02 Major Project, Yang Jun, Deputy Director, and Li Wei, Deputy Director, of National Science and Technology Major Project Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and National Science and Technology 02 Major Project group expert, SMIC, and more than 30 enterprise responsible persons from domestic IC manufacturing components companies were present. The meeting was organized by the Material Alliance entrusted by National Science and Technology Major Project Implementation and Management Office to further accelerate the technological upgrading of key component industries, promote industrial chain cooperation, establish a localized supply system, and reduce the manufacturing cost of integrated circuits.
Director Qiu Gang pointed out in his speech that the components are one of the strategic tasks of the “13th Five-Year Plan” of National Science and Technology 02 Major Project, and they are also the basic problems of the manufacturing industry that need to be solved to build the commanding heights of the development strategy. It is hoped that the components enterprises can aim at the market demand on the basis of leading special project technical training and the good cooperation atmosphere of the industrial chain, strengthen the upstream and downstream cooperation of the industrial chain based on the development of the enterprise itself, and timely understand the industry dynamics and form the synergy through the Alliance, thus finding more ways to promote the development of the components industry in addition to the special support National Science and Technology 02 Major Project.
Chief Engineer Ye Tianchun introduced the layout and related progress of components in National Science and Technology 02 Major Project. He pointed out that the components are one of the overall layout contents of National Science and Technology 02 Major Project. In recent years, with the development of the equipment industry, the promotion of national industrial funds and local funds, the era of “three-chain integration”, technology chain, market chain and financial chain, of the component industry is coming. In the next step, we will focus on solving the bottleneck problems and products of wide varieties and large amount in the components industry. The suppliers and users are combined through alliance to create a platform for communication and cooperation, which is often better than direct support of the country for investment projects.
Zheng Jingde, Senior Director of SMIC, introduced the current application status, existing problems and products expected to be improved of domestic spare components. Shi Ying, Secretary General of Materials Alliance introduced the business situation of the Material Alliance, the operation characteristics of the Alliance, and the successful experience in promoting the mass production application of materials. During the discussion, the participants reached a consensus on expanding the components business based on the material alliance, and hoped to gather the resources of the industry chain through the organization of the Alliance, create a platform for exchange and cooperation, and accelerate the competitiveness of China's components industry.
Inspector Xie Min pointed out in the speech that components are the foundation of the integrated circuit industry. Strengthening the technological development of the components industry will improve the strength of China's integrated circuits, and it will become the core strategic industry of the country. The ability of corporate sustainable development is the foundation of national development. However, the enterprise cannot achieve long-term development by only relying on state financial support, it is a good mechanism to strengthen cooperation and collaborative innovation through alliance. I hope that everyone will actively participate in, and the National Science and Technology Major Project Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology will also give full support for the work of the Alliance.
Finally, Director Liang Sheng pointed out in the summary of the meeting that the establishment of the Alliance is supported by National Science and Technology 02 Major Project. It is necessary to carry out work to combine components and materials, and integrate consumable materials and components into one alliance. He put forward six requirements for the future work of the Alliance: formulating industry standards, strengthening patent protection, organizing supply and demand docking exchange, playing the role of bridge between government and enterprises, smoothing information channels, helping member units to seek high-end talents, and compiling white paper on industrial development.
