Hubei Xingfu has been awarded first place in the supplier evaluation for electronic chemicals by SMIC.
Hubei Xingfu Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xingfu Electronics”) has, since the commissioning of its first electronic chemicals production line— an electronic-grade phosphoric acid plant with an annual capacity of 30,000 tons—invested and built in 2010, consistently adhered to independent innovation, developed its own brand, and actively pursued market development both domestically and internationally. After nearly eight years of persistent effort and hard work, Xingfu Electronics has achieved remarkable success in developing the electronic-grade phosphoric acid market. In 2012, Xingfu Electronics officially began supplying products to companies including Singapore’s GlobalFoundries Fab7 plant (12-inch) and Fab2 plant (8-inch), as well as Malaysia’s Silterra (8-inch). 201
Hubei Xingfu Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. After nearly eight years of persistent effort and hard work, Xingfu Electronics has achieved remarkable success in developing the market for electronic-grade phosphoric acid. In 2012, Xingfu Electronics officially began supplying products to Singapore’s Global Foundries Fab7 plant (12-inch) and Fab2 plant (8-inch), as well as Malaysia’s Silterra (8-inch). In November 2014, Xingfu Electronics successfully passed three consecutive online testing phases at SMIC’s Shanghai Plant No. 1 and officially started supplying products in mid-January 2015. In 2015, during online testing at SMIC’s Tianjin plant and HuaHong Hongli, Xingfu Electronics’ products exhibited uneven etching on certain batches. Upholding the principle of quality first, Xingfu Electronics proactively communicated with its customers and thoroughly analyzed the root causes. In response to this issue, Xingfu Electronics established a dedicated R&D team that worked closely with senior engineers from SMIC and HuaHong Hongli. Over the course of dozens of experiments, comparisons, and validations, the team finally identified the cause of the high antimony (Sb) content in the electronic-grade phosphoric acid. To address this problem, Xingfu Electronics invested a total of over 30 million yuan, undertaking more than ten R&D and technological upgrade projects, and successfully developed electronic-grade phosphoric acid with an antimony (Sb) content below 10 ppb.
In January 2017, HuaHong Macro resumed supplying electronic-grade phosphoric acid. All of the electronic-grade phosphoric acid used at Factory No. 3 is now supplied by Xingfu Electronics (accounting for 70% of HuaHong Macro’s total procurement volume of electronic-grade phosphoric acid). Testing of the electronic-grade phosphoric acid at HuaHong Macro’s Factory No. 1 has also been completed and is awaiting final results. It is expected that by March 2018, all of HuaHong Macro’s electronic-grade phosphoric acid will be supplied by Xingfu Electronics.
In mid-August 2017, SMIC’s Tianjin plant resumed supplying electronic-grade phosphoric acid. At the same time, SMIC began preliminary preparations for launching electronic-grade phosphoric acid onto the 12-inch production lines at its Shanghai Plant No. 8 and Beijing Plant. As of now, all electronic-grade phosphoric acid used on SMIC’s 8-inch production lines has been supplied by Xingfu Electronics, accounting for 60% of SMIC’s total procurement volume of electronic-grade phosphoric acid. In 2017, Xingfu Electronics stood out among 36 electronic chemical suppliers and earned first place in SMIC’s first-half supplier rating for electronic chemicals.
Through communication and exchanges with various departments at manufacturers such as SMIC and HuaHong Macro, as well as through online applications, Xingfu Electronics has gained a deep understanding of its responsibility as a member of the semiconductor supply chain in mainland China. Xingfu Electronics will continue, as always, to invest in R&D, closely follow the pace of development in the semiconductor industry, provide excellent customer service, and strive to fully localize the production of electronic-grade phosphoric acid.
