The Materials Alliance—SMIC Integrated Circuit Domestic Materials Supply-Demand Matching Seminar Was Successfully Held.
To deepen mutual understanding between integrated circuit manufacturing companies and materials suppliers, promote coordinated development across the domestic industry chain—both upstream and downstream—enhance technological capabilities and product quality, focus on addressing weak links in the application of domestically produced materials, and expand the influence of domestic materials within the industry, on May 19 in Shaoxing, the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Materials Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “Materials Alliance”) and Shaoxing SMIC Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SMIC Integrated”) jointly hosted the “Materials Alliance–SMIC Integrated Domestic Materials Supply-Demand Matching Seminar.”

The meeting introduced Sinoda Integrated’s overall profile and development plan, as well as the material requirements driven by its business platforms and technological advancements. It also outlined the quality management requirements for suppliers. In addition, the meeting shared successful case studies of efficient collaboration between supply and demand sides. Mr. Zhao Qi, General Manager of Sinoda Integrated, personally led more than 20 company representatives—including those responsible for supply chain management, quality management, and production operations—as well as engineers, to attend the meeting. Over 40 material companies from the photolithography resists, electronic gases, process chemicals, and polishing materials sectors, along with nearly 100 delegates, participated in the event. This event provided valuable opportunities for material companies to join Sinoda Integrated’s supply chain.

General Manager Zhao Qi delivered a special address, warmly welcoming the representatives from various materials companies. He also introduced that since its establishment, SMIC Integrated has been focusing on three key application areas—power, sensing, and RF—and has been actively implementing the dual-carbon strategy by comprehensively deploying in the three major industries of new energy, intelligent technologies, and the Internet of Things. The company provides customers with one-stop integrated manufacturing services, covering everything from chips to modules. Recently, SMIC Integrated successfully listed on the STAR Market, marking a milestone in the company’s development journey. He emphasized that SMIC Integrated’s rapid growth would not have been possible without the comprehensive support of its supply chain partners. The company will continue to adhere to a diversified development path for semiconductor materials, actively promote both domestic and international dual-circulation mechanisms, and contribute positively to the development of domestically produced materials. Finally, he wished the conference every success.

Ms. Shi Ying, Secretary-General of the Materials Alliance, expressed her gratitude to SMIC Integrated for its strong support and attention to this matchmaking event. She pointed out that SMIC Integrated has seized the opportunities presented by the intelligent era, strategically positioning itself in the core businesses of power semiconductors and MEMS, and pioneering a new integrated manufacturing model that offers one-stop services—from wafer fabrication to module packaging and application testing. In just five years, SMIC Integrated has achieved an industry miracle: from its inception to listing on the capital market and entering a phase of rapid growth. From day one, SMIC Integrated has placed great emphasis on collaborating with domestic material suppliers and has established a close, interactive communication mechanism with the Materials Alliance. Both sides adopt an open and trustworthy attitude, exchanging and sharing demand information. With efficient, pragmatic actions and strong execution capabilities, SMIC Integrated has accelerated the validation and large-scale adoption of domestically produced materials in its production lines, setting a positive example of win-win cooperation. She noted that SMIC Integrated’s spirit of unity, determination, and vibrant energy has profoundly influenced and inspired colleagues at material companies. The activities organized and promoted by the Materials Alliance together with SMIC Integrated are not only about facilitating business communication between material suppliers and demanders but also represent a spiritual exchange characterized by courage to face challenges, willingness to take risks, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. She wished the event every success and extended her best wishes for smooth business operations to SMIC Integrated and all participating material companies!
During the subsequent reporting session, Yan Fei, Deputy General Manager of SMIC Integrated, first introduced the company’s basic information and future plans to the representatives from material companies in attendance. He stated that SMIC Integrated is rooted in the new energy industry and geared toward an intelligent society, boasting one-stop integrated manufacturing capabilities as well as a comprehensive technological and production capacity layout. In the past five years, the company has experienced rapid growth and has become a leader—both domestically and globally—in product areas such as IGBTs, MEMS, and high-power modules. SMIC Integrated has established a robust supply chain system and has maintained exponential growth over the past several years despite global pandemics and a challenging international environment. He emphasized that, with a smooth and efficient communication mechanism in place with the Materials Alliance, collaboration and coordination with various material companies will enable even faster growth.

Hou Dawei, Director of Quality Management at SMIC Integrated, reported on the company’s quality management efforts. He provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s basic quality management framework, supplier quality management functions, and quality management requirements. He highlighted key aspects such as the quality strategy, the certification requirements for quality systems that suppliers of various types of materials must meet, and SMIC Integrated’s specialized guidance program aimed at deepening quality improvements among domestic suppliers. He also emphasized that the high quality standards required for automotive products are the top priority in the company’s quality management efforts.

Cai Juan, Director of Procurement at SMIC Integrated, delivered a briefing on the company’s supply chain management practices. She provided a comprehensive and detailed overview covering supply chain management objectives, the supply chain management system, the supply chain management team, the supplier onboarding process, supplier classification, supplier performance management, and supplier performance improvement. As a result, material suppliers gained a thorough understanding of the steps required to become an eligible supplier for SMIC Integrated.

At the event, He Zhaobo, Director and Chief Engineer of Hubei Xingfu Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., and Huang Binbin, Director and Vice President of Fujian Del Technology Co., Ltd., shared their respective experiences and the journey of cooperation with SMIC Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Chief Engineer He Zhaobo noted that from the very beginning of SMIC Integrated’s plant construction, it had maintained a close cooperative relationship with Xingfu Electronic. In 2022, Xingfu Electronic delivered nearly 1,000 tons of various products, and its annual sales revenue increased several times compared to 2021. SMIC Integrated has now become one of Xingfu Electronic’s top five domestic customers. Vice President Huang Binbin remarked that SMIC Integrated’s harmonious and enterprising team spirit, its steady and cumulative development achievements, and its cutting-edge technological applications that rival international standards have deeply inspired material enterprises. He highlighted that a well-established industrial chain layout, robust and reliable supply-chain security capabilities, independent R&D innovation capacity, and a swift and efficient response mechanism are all critical factors for material enterprises seeking to become strategic suppliers. This sharing of experiences has served as a positive role model for other material enterprises.

Chen Dong, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Shaoxing Integrated Circuit Industry Park, and Zhou Peiqi, General Manager of the Shaoxing China-Japan-Korea Semiconductor Industry Park, provided detailed introductions on Shaoxing’s integrated circuit industry planning, the current status of project attraction, future development goals, policy support measures, and the overall situation of each park. They also welcomed material companies to establish operations in Shaoxing and jointly build a national-level hub for the integrated circuit industry.
In the afternoon, Wang Zhenpeng, Director of Supply Chain Development at SMIC Integrated Circuit Manufacturing, and Cai Juan, Director of Procurement, along with technical personnel from departments including Supply Chain Development, Production, Engineering Technology, and R&D, held one-on-one in-depth exchanges and discussions separately with representatives from various material suppliers. The discussions covered the current status of technological development at each material supplier, their mass-production application scenarios, future R&D directions, and efforts to build a closed-loop domestic materials supply chain. Both sides engaged in focused and lively discussions on product performance, parameter specifications, sources of raw materials, cost composition, and product customization options. They also agreed to establish a corresponding communication and exchange mechanism going forward, further strengthening cooperation between suppliers and customers. Representatives attending the meeting unanimously expressed that this matchmaking event played an important role in enhancing collaboration and communication between suppliers and customers at the application end.
