The Materials Alliance has been selected as a demonstration and promotion agency for “end-to-end” applications in 2022 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

In January 2023, the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Alliance was selected for the “One-Stop Application Demonstration Project for Sputtering Targets and High-Purity Metal Refining Technologies for Integrated Circuits.” As the leading promoting organization, the Alliance will join forces with its member units—Jiangfeng Electronics, Youyan Yijin, SMIC, Yangtze Memory Technologies, Changxin Memory Technologies, Changdian Technology, as well as 13 other entities including raw material suppliers and testing and certification institutions—to jointly launch a collaborative research effort. This initiative aims to create a synergistic innovation ecosystem across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors, characterized by mutual integration and cooperative division of labor. By doing so, the Alliance will ensure the smooth implementation of the “one-stop” application demonstration project for targets, significantly enhancing the industrial capabilities of high-end sputtering targets and high-purity raw materials and accelerating the localization and mass production of target materials.
