The Zhonghuan Leading Tianjin Semiconductor Base, under TCL Zhonghuan, has begun operations, and the Tianjin Advanced Semiconductor Materials Research Institute has been inaugurated.

On September 15, the commissioning ceremony for TCL Zhonghuan’s Zhonghuan Leading Tianjin Semiconductor Base and the unveiling ceremony for the Tianjin Advanced Semiconductor Materials Research Institute were successfully held at TCL Zhonghuan’s Huayuan Science and Technology Park in Tianjin.

Lian Maojun, Member of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Binhai New Area Party Committee, Zhu Peng, Vice Mayor of Tianjin, Li Dongsheng, Founder and Chairman of TCL, Wang Cheng, COO of TCL Technology, Shen Haoping, General Manager of TCL Zhonghuan, along with heads of relevant Tianjin municipal government departments and representatives of key partners, attended the event.

Central District Leads Tianjin Semiconductor Base

TCL Zhonghuan is firmly committed to implementing a semiconductor materials strategy of “leading domestically and catching up globally.” By focusing on Total Solutions and integrating into the global semiconductor value chain, the company aims to compete internationally and accelerate its journey toward global leadership. The Tianjin Semiconductor Base, led by Zhonghuan, has received an investment of 3 billion yuan and covers an area of 60 mu. Once fully operational, the base will have a production capacity of 1.35 million polished wafers per month for 8-inch and smaller sizes, helping TCL Zhonghuan grow into one of the most comprehensive semiconductor materials manufacturers. This will, in turn, support the development of end markets such as new energy, automotive electronics, 5G communications, and the Internet of Things.
