The Inaugural Meeting of the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Alliance Standards Committee and the Establishment Meeting of the CSTM/FC51 Integrated Circuit Materials Standardization Technical Committee were held in Shanghai.

On March 19, 2021, the Standards Committee of the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “ICMtia Standards Committee”) held its committee renewal and the inaugural meeting of the CSTM/FC51 Technical Committee for Standardization of Integrated Circuit Materials in Shanghai.

The meeting was chaired by Liu Bing, Executive Director of the ICMtia Standards Committee. First, Liu Bing reported on the renewal of the Standards Committee of the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Alliance. Then, Liu Lina, Deputy Secretary-General of the Electronic Materials Sector Committee of the China Materials and Testing Group Standardization Committee (CSTM/FC51), introduced the background of CSTM’s establishment, provided an overview of the work carried out by CSTM/FC51, and highlighted the key priorities of CSTM/FC51. Finally, Wang Shumin, Vice Chairman of the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, presented certificate of membership to the newly appointed members of the Standards Committee and delivered a congratulatory speech.

The newly elected Standards Committee of the Materials Alliance, together with the CSTM/FC51 Integrated Circuit Materials Standardization Technical Committee, is chaired by Shi Ying, with Liu Bing serving as Executive Chairperson. Yao Lijun, Ding Cheng, and Xu Youzhi have been appointed as Vice Chairpersons. The committee members reviewed and approved the Detailed Rules for the Management of ICMtia Standards Committee Work, the Outline for the Standardization System Planning, and the numbering rules for group standards.

During the meeting, the Working Group on Process Chemicals reviewed the draft solicitation of comments for two group standards—“Hydrofluoric Acid for Integrated Circuits” and “Nitric Acid for Integrated Circuits”—prepared by Zhongjuxin Technology Co., Ltd. After carefully listening to the report from the standard drafting team, the Working Group examined the relevant materials and conducted a rigorous and detailed review and discussion of each item in the draft solicitation of comments, putting forward numerous feasible suggestions for revision.

The recent election of the Materials Alliance Standards Committee and the establishment of the CSTM/FC51 Integrated Circuit Materials Technical Committee were successfully concluded in a compact and orderly manner, laying a solid foundation for the steady advancement of all specialized working groups in the coming period. As the cornerstone and core of the information industry, integrated circuit materials occupy a pivotal position in national economic and social development. Building an integrated circuit materials industry system characterized by continuously enhanced independent innovation capabilities and ever-expanding industrial scale is of great significance for accelerating the development of emerging industries, supporting the nation’s informatization drive, and promoting the sustained, healthy development of the national economy and society.
