Guangdong Huate Gas Co., Ltd. has been awarded the 4th “IC Innovation Award.”


On March 20, 2021, the 2021 Integrated Circuit Industry Chain Collaborative Innovation and Development Exchange Conference, hosted by the China Integrated Circuit Innovation Alliance, was held simultaneously in Beijing and Shanghai. The conference facilitated exchanges on innovation in integrated circuits and experiences in industrial chain cooperation, and explored new ideas and initiatives for the future innovative development of integrated circuits.
As an important component of this conference, the conference presented the 4th “IC Innovation Award” of the China Integrated Circuit Innovation Alliance to recognize organizations that have achieved significant breakthroughs in technological innovation and the development of key technologies in the integrated circuit field. Guangdong Huater Gas Co., Ltd.’s project, “Research and Development and Industrialization of High-Purity Hexafluoroethane,” was awarded the “Achievement Industrialization Award.”
In the award citation read by the host, the project “Research and Industrialization of High-Purity Hexafluoroethane” by Guangdong Huate Gas Co., Ltd. combines efficient secondary distillation technology with energy-saving low-temperature adsorption and pressurized adsorption technologies, using a specialized adsorbent to achieve a hexafluoroethane product purity of 5N3 or higher. The resulting patent has been awarded the Excellence Prize in the China Patent Awards, and the company has taken the lead in drafting a national standard. Additionally, the project has received numerous honors, including the 10th China Semiconductor Innovation Products and Technologies Award and the Guangdong Province Famous Brand Product Award. Hexafluoroethane has now entered mass production and is being supplied on a long-term basis to several well-known enterprises such as SMIC, HuaRun ShangHua, HuaHong Macro, and TSMC. Currently, the company holds over 40% of the domestic market share, significantly accelerating the localization of hexafluoroethane production.
