Member organizations of the Materials Alliance participated in Semicon China 2021.

On March 17, 2021, SEMICON China—the annual premier event in the semiconductor industry—opened as scheduled at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The conference brought together numerous domestic and international manufacturers from across the semiconductor industry’s upstream and downstream sectors, including those involved in chip manufacturing, packaging and testing, materials, equipment, and components. This year, both the number of exhibiting companies and the attendance have significantly rebounded compared to last year.

The “Integrated Circuit Materials Alliance Zone,” jointly organized by the Materials Alliance and SEMI China and located in Hall E5—the main exhibition area for integrated circuits—has expanded its space this year. Within the zone, member companies of the Materials Alliance have actively set up their exhibits. In addition to established participants such as the 718th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, Hubei Xingfu Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Zhongjuxin Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Kehua Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd., Jiangyin Jianghua Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd., Nanjing Guosheng Electronics Co., Ltd., Guangdong Huater Gas Co., Ltd., Fujian Del Technology Co., Ltd., Guizhou Weidun Jinglin Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Jiangyin Runma Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Suzhou Jingrui Chemical Co., Ltd., Shanghai Cabeni Precision Ceramics Co., Ltd., Xiamen Hengkun New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Fujian Bocun Materials Co., Ltd., Hubei Dinglong Holdings Co., Ltd., Shanghai Qianghua Quartz Co., Ltd., and Wuxi Ruijie Xinsheng Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., several new companies have also joined, including Youyan Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd., Duofu Duo Chemical Co., Ltd., Henan Xinlianxin Deep-Cool Energy Co., Ltd., Ouzhong Electronic Materials (Chongqing) Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Hantuo Optical Materials Co., Ltd. The number of exhibiting companies in the zone has reached 22, covering material categories such as silicon wafers, photoresists, electronic gases, process chemicals, polishing materials, and consumables. The exhibition area exceeds 1,000 square meters, breaking previous records.

Units within the Materials Alliance actively exchanged ideas at the exhibition and engaged in in-depth discussions with domestic and international customers who attended. Many companies noted that, driven by growth in the new electronics consumer sector, demand for the domestic semiconductor industry is robust. Material companies are seizing these opportunities by proactively planning their strategies, advancing technological innovation, and highlighting their competitive strengths. As a result, companies have significantly improved their technological capabilities, management skills, and customer service levels, accelerating the process of replacing imported materials with domestically produced ones. Moving forward, companies will continue to strengthen collaboration across the industrial chain, promote the upgrading of local industries, and strive gradually to expand their influence in the global industry.

For several years running, the Materials Alliance has set up a “Special Zone for the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Alliance” during SEMICON China. The establishment of this special zone not only enables upstream and downstream customers in the industrial chain to gain a comprehensive understanding and grasp of domestic integrated circuit materials companies, but also highlights the overall strengths and vigorous development momentum of the integrated circuit industry. Moreover, it plays a positive role in facilitating communication and collaboration among its member companies, earning wide recognition from alliance members. During SEMICON China 2022, we will continue to host the “Special Zone for the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Alliance.” Stay tuned!
