Member organizations of the Materials Alliance will participate in Semicon China 2020.
On June 27, 2020, after being postponed for more than three months due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, SEMICON China—the annual flagship event of the semiconductor industry—finally kicked off at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Although this year’s number of exhibitors and visitors was significantly reduced because of the pandemic, the “Integrated Circuit Materials Alliance Zone” set up in Hall E5, the main exhibition area for integrated circuits, in cooperation between the Materials Alliance and SEMI China, still saw active participation from various companies. A total of over a dozen member units of the Alliance took part in the exhibition within this special zone, including the 718th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, Hubei Xingfu Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Zhongjuxin Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Kehua Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd., Jiangyin Jianghua Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd., Nanjing Guosheng Electronics Co., Ltd., Guangdong Huater Gas Co., Ltd., Fujian Del Technology Co., Ltd., Guizhou Weidun Jinglin Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Jiangyin Runma Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Suzhou Jingrui Chemical Co., Ltd., Shanghai Cabeni Precision Ceramics Co., Ltd., Xiamen Hengkun New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Fujian Bocun Materials Co., Ltd., Hubei Dinglong Holdings Co., Ltd., Shanghai Qianghua Quartz Co., Ltd., and Wuxi Ruijie Xinsheng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

Although many of our overseas peers and customers were unable to attend in person, the various units within the alliance actively engaged in exchanges at the exhibition and held in-depth discussions with the domestic customers who did attend. Many companies noted that numerous factors, including the evolving pandemic situation abroad, have to some extent accelerated the process of localizing semiconductor materials. All parties remain cautiously optimistic about the development of domestically produced semiconductor materials.
For several years running, the Materials Alliance has set up a “Special Zone for the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Alliance” during SEMICON China. The establishment of this special zone not only enables upstream and downstream customers in the industrial chain to gain a comprehensive understanding of domestic integrated circuit materials companies, but also highlights the overall strengths and vigorous development momentum of the integrated circuit industry. Moreover, it plays a positive role in facilitating communication among the alliance’s member companies and has received wide recognition from all members. During SEMICON China 2021, we will continue to host the “Special Zone for the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Alliance.” Stay tuned!
