Yantai Debang was shortlisted among the Top 100 Patent-Innovative Enterprises in Shandong Province for 2019.

To implement the major strategic decisions of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government on accelerating the conversion of old and new growth drivers, and to leverage the crucial supporting and leading role of patents in the province’s transformation of old and new growth drivers and industrial upgrading, the Shandong Provincial Institute of Scientific and Technological Information and the Qingdao Institute of Scientific and Technological Information jointly launched the selection process for the Top 100 Innovative Patent Enterprises in Shandong Province.
In March 2020, the “Top 100 Patent-Innovative Enterprises in Shandong (2019)” report, jointly compiled by the Shandong Provincial Institute of Science and Technology Information and the Qingdao Institute of Science and Technology Information, was released to the public, along with the list of the Top 100 Patent-Innovative Enterprises in Shandong for 2019. Haier Group, Hisense Group, Inspur Group, Goertek Inc., Yantai Wanhua, and Yantai Debang were among the standout companies that made it onto the Top 100 list.
It is reported that the 2019 evaluation indicator system consists of eight metrics across three dimensions: patent quantity, patent quality, and patent impact. Compared with the previous year, it has added two new metrics—patent pledges and licensing—that reflect the commercialization value of patents, thereby better capturing the value and impact of enterprises’ patents.
The top 100 patent-owning enterprises have played a significant role in supporting Shandong’s economic development. In 2019, the patent technologies held by Shandong’s top 100 patent holders were primarily concentrated in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, instrumentation, and other fields, with involvement in emerging information technologies, high-end equipment, new energy and new materials, and modern marine technologies.
