The 4th meeting of the 1st Council of the Materials Alliance was held in Chengdu.

On July 7, the Materials Alliance held its first fourth session of the Board of Directors in Chengdu, coinciding with the “Microelectronics and Optoelectronics Materials Division” of the 2014 China Materials Conference, which was hosted by the Alliance from July 4 to 7, 2014 in Chengdu. The meeting was chaired by Secretary-General Shi Ying. The meeting fully affirmed the Alliance’s work in the first half of 2014, discussed and deliberated on the Alliance’s key tasks for the second half of 2014, reviewed and approved applications from nine companies—including Angelic Electronics and Duofluoride Chemical—to join the Alliance, and reviewed and approved the registration and establishment of the Zhongguancun Multi-Dimensional Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance under the Materials Alliance. Before concluding the meeting, the Alliance also invited Zhongguancun Science & Technology Leasing.

In the second half of the year, key priorities include continuing to complete the construction of the industry database, drawing up a roadmap for industrial development, organizing a strategic seminar on the integrated circuit materials industry, further advancing the alignment and implementation of projects aimed at scaling up the production and application of domestically produced materials, and hosting events such as the “Thousand-Person Forum on Innovative Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry” and member-unit exchange days. Representatives attending the meeting engaged in lively discussions on the alliance’s work, putting forward various ideas and requests. For example, they suggested that the alliance establish a fund for the localization of integrated circuit materials and reward outstanding teams from integrated circuit manufacturing and packaging/testing companies that are actively promoting the localization of materials. They also called for accelerating preparations for the strategic seminar on the integrated circuit materials industry, proactively aligning with the “National Outline for Promoting the Development of the Integrated Circuit Industry,” and promptly communicating with relevant government departments to update the tax-exempt product catalog for integrated circuit materials.
