Also attending were Xu Wei, Executive Vice President of Shanghai HuaHong Macro Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; Li Qi, Vice President; Su Wei, General Manager of CR Microelectronics; as well as heads from HuaHong Macro’s three major factories responsible for material procurement, application evaluation, and quality management, together with technical, quality, and marketing personnel from material alliance member units across the country.

2014 Year 2 Moon 25 On [date], the launch ceremony for the “Mass Production and Application Engineering Project of Key Equipment and Materials for Domestic Integrated Circuits,” along with a supply-and-demand matchmaking meeting aimed at promoting the large-scale application of domestically produced materials through collaboration between material companies and HuaHong Macro, was successfully held in Shanghai. Academician Wang Xi, Chairman of the Integrated Circuit Materials Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Also in attendance were Xu Wei, Executive Vice President of Shanghai HuaHong Macro Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; Li Qi, Vice President; Su Wei, General Manager of CR Microelectronics; as well as over 100 senior representatives from HuaHong Macro’s three major factories—including those responsible for material procurement, application evaluation, and quality management—as well as technical, quality, and marketing personnel from member units of the Materials Alliance across China. The meeting was chaired by Shi Ying, Secretary-General of the Materials Alliance.
The conference announced the implementation plan for the “Mass Production and Application Engineering of Key Equipment and Materials for Domestic Integrated Circuits,” and briefed participants on the certification procedures, technical requirements, and quality control standards for domestically produced materials at HuaHong Macro and CR Micro. Participants then engaged in group discussions on domestic products. 8 Inch IC Issues in the material verification process and the next steps for the action plan. The “Project for Mass Production and Application of Key Equipment and Materials for Domestic Integrated Circuits” is jointly planned by the Materials Alliance and HuaHong Hongli, and has now received national approval. 02 Specifically approved and initiated. The overall objective of the project is to support and encourage domestic chip manufacturers and chip users to adopt and utilize domestically produced materials, achieve mass production of these materials, promote large-scale procurement and application of domestically produced materials, reach international standards, and participate in global competition. The project is expected to... 2014 ~ 2016 Yearly completion 6 Home silicon wafer manufacturer epitaxial wafers, SOI 、 FZ Silicon wafers, Low COP Polished wafers, etc. 22 a product, 4 Home special gas manufacturer 8 a product, 5 Household chemical manufacturer 12 Evaluation of various grades as well as precious metals such as titanium targets, aluminum targets, gold, and silver, to achieve the total procurement amount. 5 . 2 RMB 100 million. The conference also analyzed the current state of China’s integrated circuit materials industry, pinpointing with great accuracy many of the industry’s existing problems and the severe challenges it faces—such as the enormous workload involved in assessments, high evaluation costs, low confidence among chip-user companies, lack of price competitiveness and high costs, and significant risks associated with mass production. At the same time, the conference introduced material suppliers to HuaHong Macro and CR Micro’s supplier certification procedures, quality audit processes, technical evaluation workflows, and management measures for suppliers.
Xu Wei, Executive Vice President of HuaHong Macro, stated: “Today’s meeting marks the beginning of a new phase in which Shanghai HuaHong Macro Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is leading domestic semiconductor companies to further advance the development of local supplier ecosystems. Following this matchmaking event, we will face numerous opportunities as well as significant challenges. Together with our materials suppliers, we’ll not only have to tackle issues related to material stability, but also contend with the monopolistic power of overseas suppliers and the high barriers to entry imposed by customers. Nevertheless, I’m confident that through the ‘Project for Mass Production and Application of Key Equipment and Materials for Domestic Integrated Circuits,’ we, along with materials companies and end customers, will collectively confront these difficulties and bottlenecks, and together paint a brighter future.” 8 The blueprint and roadmap for the mass production and application of domestically produced materials in China. I’ve always firmly believed that if foreigners can do it, we Chinese can certainly do it—and even better!
Shi Ying, Secretary-General of the Materials Alliance, stated: “This event aims to accelerate the large-scale application of domestically produced materials for integrated circuits, enhance the overall competitiveness of material companies’ products, and foster consensus among material suppliers and demanders as well as end-users, enabling them to implement action plans and coordinate their efforts in promoting mass production applications.”
