Academician Lu Yongxiang Visits Ningbo Jiangfeng Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.

On the morning of April 1, Academician Lu Yongxiang, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and former President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited Ningbo Jiangfeng Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. for an inspection and research visit. He was warmly welcomed by Dr. Yao Lijun, Chairman of the company, and the founding team of Jiangfeng Electronics. During the visit, Dr. Yao Lijun first gave Academician Lu a detailed report on the achievements Jiangfeng Electronics has made in the field of ultra-high-purity metal materials and sputtering targets, supported by the nation’s Major Project 02: “Since taking on this project, Jiangfeng Electronics’ ultra-high-purity aluminum targets have captured more than 25% of the global market share, ranking first in the world. He was warmly welcomed by Dr. Yao Lijun, Chairman of the company, and the founding team of Jiangfeng Electronics.

During the research visit, Dr. Yao Lijun first gave Lu Yongxiang a detailed report on the achievements Jiangfeng Electronics has made in the field of ultra-high-purity metal materials and sputtering targets, thanks to the support of the nation’s Major Project 02. “Since taking on this project, Jiangfeng Electronics’ ultra-high-purity aluminum targets have captured over 25% of the global market share, ranking first in the world. Moreover, our ultra-high-purity tantalum targets—used in the 28-nanometer technology node—have successfully entered TSMC and are now becoming its primary supplier. Jiangfeng Electronics has become a globally renowned manufacturer of semiconductor targets, and many of our products are already in mass production at world-class companies such as SMIC and UMC.”

Academician Lu Yongxiang visited the production workshops and R&D sites in depth, gaining a detailed understanding of the company’s technological R&D efforts and market sales activities. Upon learning that Jiangfeng Electronics has seen continuous growth in its sales capabilities for several years running and that its equipment and production capacity have been steadily expanding, Academician Lu Yongxiang remarked: “High-tech products like sputtering targets not only need to pass the rigorous technical and quality tests conducted by international high-end customers, but also must withstand the challenges posed by market application and cost competitiveness. Jiangfeng is the pride of Yuyao, Ningbo—and as a native of Ningbo, I’m deeply grateful for Jiangfeng’s contributions.” When he saw many pieces of equipment that Jiangfeng Electronics had independently designed and manufactured, he said, “Through continuous innovation and R&D, Jiangfeng Electronics has not only addressed the nation’s demand for high-end target materials, but this spirit of self-reliance is precisely what enables us to achieve great things.” At the same time, Academician Lu Yongxiang expressed his earnest hopes for the Jiangfeng team: “I hope that Jiangfeng Electronics, building on its strong foundation in metal materials research, will continue to develop new materials and produce high-quality, sophisticated, and cutting-edge products in response to national and industrial needs. By doing so, it can further enhance the added value of its products and drive the target material industry toward both ends of the value chain.”
