The “Nitrous Oxide Recovery and Purification Project” by Lvling Company has been awarded a Special Nomination for the 4th Paulson Prize for Sustainable Cities.

The fourth Paulson Prize for Sustainable Cities, hosted by the Paulson Institute, held its award ceremony in Beijing on March 16. Among the 42 projects that competed, Beijing Lvling Gas Technology Co., Ltd.’s “Nitrous Oxide Recovery and Purification Project” carried out in Heze, Shandong Province, stood out and was awarded the “Special Nomination Award” for this year’s prize. Ms. Lynn Scarlett, a member of the judging panel, former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, and Global Managing Director of Public Policy at The Nature Conservancy, presented the award certificate to Mr. Zhao Bing, Chairman of Lvling Company. This project provides a brand-new solution for reducing nitrous oxide emissions from tail gases in related industrial enterprises. While ensuring economic benefits, it also protects the Earth’s environment and human health, achieving a win-win situation for both environmental protection and economic gains. This is primarily reflected in the following aspects:

First, achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. By employing a unique recovery, purification, and distillation process—distinct from the conventional ammonium nitrate decomposition process—we can avoid the explosion hazard caused by uncontrolled decomposition temperatures, thus ensuring safe and reliable operations. Moreover, this approach also eliminates the explosion risks associated with the transportation and storage of ammonium nitrate as a raw material.

Fourth, we are promoting technological innovation. By adopting patented technologies with fully independent intellectual property rights, we have achieved, for the first time internationally, large-scale recovery and purification of nitrous oxide from industrial tail gases containing adipic acid. 2014 The world’s first production facility was completed that year and successfully achieved commercial production.
