Statistics showed that the manufacturing industries such as integrated circuits, flat panel displays, solar cells in China consume about 700,000 tons of chemicals and metal target materials each year, generating about 500,000 tons of waste chemicals and metal target materials. It takes huge sums to process these waste, and most of the waste chemicals are treated by incineration or neutralization, which causes waste of resources and increases the burden of environmental restoration. The Materials Alliance and China Semiconductor Industry Association organized a “Seminar on Waste Recycling Technology of Semiconductor Manufacturing Process” in Beijing on March 10, 2015, and discussed the resource technology of waste generated by semiconductor manufacturing processes, formulation of related industry standards, industry chain cooperation and win-win business model and industry supervision.
