On September 23, the IC industry cooperation matchmaking conference jointly organized by the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Economics and Information Technology was held in Xiamen Hotel. The conference aims to implement the “National Outline on Promotion Program of Integrated Circuit Industry”, build an exchange platform for upstream and downstream enterprises in the IC industry chain, promote the application of key equipment and materials for integrated circuits, and enhance the core competitiveness of the industry. Peng Hongbing, Deputy Director of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information, Yan Xiaodong, Deputy Director of Fujian Provincial Economic and Information Committee, Ye Tianchun, Director of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Li Dongliang, Deputy Mayor of Xiamen, and Xie Song, Deputy Director of Xiamen Torch High-tech Zone Management Committee, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
The Materials Alliance, entrusted by the Electronic Information Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to organize the member units to participate in the conference. Shi Ying, Secretary General of the Materials Alliance and more than 70 experts from more than 40 member units attended the meeting.
Deputy Director Peng Hongbing pointed out in his speech that in recent years, the development of China's IC industry is booming, but the interactive exchange is not enough. It is very meaningful to gather representatives of relevant political, business and academic circles and industrial funds to hold a cooperation matchmaking meeting. He pointed out that China's IC industry chain still has a weak foundation, core technologies and equipment are mostly imported from foreign countries, which has a great degree of foreign dependence. It is necessary to promote cooperation between upstream and downstream of integrated circuits. At the same time, the state will adjust the import duty-free catalogue in a timely manner to guide domestic enterprises to adopt localized products as much as possible. Deputy Mayor Li Dongliang said in his speech that the IC industry chain in Xiamen has covered IC design, wafer fabrication, packaging testing, application module design, and all aspects of the industry chain, which strives to build Xiamen into the southern headquarters of the integrated circuit industry.
Director Ye Tianchun introduced the overall development of the integrated circuit industry chain in China, as well as the "three-chain integration" strategy of building industry chain, innovation chain and capital chain. He proposed that it should have a global perspective for the development of high-end integrated circuit industry and should not be limited to the domestic market. It has good opportunities for cooperation in terms of the cross-strait IC industry. Xiamen, as a springboard for Taiwanese companies to enter the mainland, shall strengthen the interaction between industries to achieve complementary advantages.
At the meeting, United Semi Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., a Taiwan-funded enterprise, and Xiamen San’an Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd., made speeches as representatives of key enterprises in Xiamen. The member units of Materials Alliance, Anji Microelectronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Ningbo Jiangfeng Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., Shanghai Sinyang Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd., and Beijing Kempur Microelectronics Materials Co., Ltd., made speeches at the conference.
