On November 20, the research subject on the development strategy of Zhongguancun IC industry undertook by the Materials Alliance successfully passed the mid-term review. After reviewing the project approval background, research progress, mid-term results, and next work plan of the subject, the review panel unanimously recognized the mid-term results of the subject. The experts attending the review meeting include Zheng Minzheng, Qian Peixin, Zhang Xisheng, He Rongfeng, etc. The meeting was presided over by Xu Jian, Deputy Director of the Industry Department of Zhongguancun Management Committee. Shi Ying, Secretary General of the Materials Alliance, and members of the research team attended the review meeting.
Zhongguancun is one of the leading regions in the domestic integrated circuit industry, and industrial clusters have taken initial shape. In order to seize the great opportunity that the development of the integrated circuit industry is vigorously supported by the country and Beijing Municipal Government, Zhongguancun has issued “Certain Measures on Promoting the Development of IC Design Industry in Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone” and “Certain Financial Measures on Supporting the Development of Zhongguancun IC Industry”. The Materials Alliance, entrusted by the Zhongguancun Management Committee, carried out the "Research on Promotion Program and Policy Research of Zhongguancun IC Industry", hoping to fully take advantage of the policy advantage of prior trial and implementation in the national independent demonstration zone and integrated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to study and formulate practical policy implementation rules and innovative financial support model, and further improve the policy environment for the development of the integrated circuit industry with the help of the industrial information and the advantages of enterprises and experts of the Alliance, thus providing decision support for the development of Zhongguancun IC industry.
The subject team investigated the integrated circuit and application market, the form and global distribution, and the development environment of the integrated circuit industry, and the current status of the IC industry in Zhongguancun. On the basis of fully analyzing the location characteristics of Zhongguancun and the functional orientation of Beijing, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of Zhongguancun, the general ideas and policy recommendations for the development of integrated circuits in Zhongguancun were proposed. In the next step, the subject team will supplement and improve the recommendations and policy implementation plans in terms of the expert opinions from the mid-term review. The subject is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
